DS-160 mistakes to catch before you continue

Save the Application ID
Keep the identifier needed to return to an unfinished application.

Check dates in sequence
Look for impossible or reversed arrival, departure, employment and education dates.

Review reused information
Previously submitted information may be reused, but the official FAQ says to check that it is still current and accurate.

Answer applicable required questions
Do not leave a required question unanswered or choose “Does Not Apply” without confirming that it truly does not apply.

The official FAQ warns that edits from the review page must be saved using the buttons at the bottom of each page.
